In 1745 Mhairie saw into her adoptive son’s future. Death and destruction. Her love for Sir Cameron MacLeod was so great that she placed a sleep spell on him. She placed the "box" containing "Cameron" into safe keeping with a caretaker until the time came where all was safe and she could lift the spell. That however never came to past and the "box" has been safely guarded for generations.

Now, in the 21st century, Claire MacGregor, owner and proprietor of the antique shop the Velvet Pumpkin, is willed an old friend’s possessions. One item in particular catches Claire’s attention. A puzzle box. An old translation provided piques her curiosity and soon Claire discovers the secret to the puzzle box. What happens next is either the best or worst thing to happen to her.

A gorgeous naked man claiming to be Sir Cameron MacLeod of several hundred years past appears before her. It seems she’s awakened Cameron from his spell. It’s all too much to take in, but apparently all too real.

From the moment he wakes up in a different time and place, Cameron gets into nothing but trouble, though he always has the very best of intentions. It’s all Claire can do to keep up with him, let alone try and stay one step ahead of him and keep him out of trouble.

Claire promises to find a way to send Cameron "home" but didn’t count on falling in love with the warrior in the meantime. No matter how much she loves him, one way or another she’ll keep her promise.

He owes her so much and she’s shown him nothing but kindness (most of the time). It’s not long before Cameron finds himself falling for the lass, but kens he must find a way home despite his feelings for Claire. He kens she’ll be hurt upon his leaving. If there were any other way…

First, let me heave a Sigh. Cameron is quite the hero. Fierce and strong and protective. Yet there’s a sensitive side to him that he’s not afraid to reveal to Claire or the reader when things become overwhelming. Claire is caring and understanding with a spirited disposition. Sandy Blair has created a perfect match in these two characters.

A Highlander for Christmas is a feel good read no matter the time of year. It’s an engaging story that’s sprinkled with charm, humor, and emotion. It will make you smile. And sigh.
