Delia Dupuis is a woman full of secrets. She arrived with her little girl, Josie, at the Hudson River inn owned by Gabe Mitchell. Gabe is looking for someone to set up and run the spa he has planned to increase the business of the inn. Delia is looking for a place to hide. This could prove to help them both. Gabe is impressed with her ideas and Delia found the location safe – for her and her daughter.
Max Mitchell is also full of secrets and he, too, is using the inn to hide. Max left his life a city cop to help his brother make a success of his dream inn. However, Max needed the help more than his brother did. Max is struggling to find his "safe" place but in the meantime, he will try to figure out Delia secrets. (Isn’t it always better to focus on someone else’s?)
Both of them are being drawn into a situation that they don’t feel ready for and, with every fiber of effort they have, are saying that they don’t want.
Molly O’Keefe has definitely mixed the right amount of romance with the added dash of suspense to create a work to sit down and spend an afternoon with. The characters are three dimensional and come to life as the story is told. I really find myself wanting to visit the Riverview Inn and spend some time in the location. The scenery and the people all sound wonderful!
