Making Waves by Nell Dixon

After being dumped by her fiancé, the last thing Cassidy Jones wants is an audience to watch her wallow in self-pity and despair. So running into her boss, Josh Parker, at a seaside café is bad. Finding out he’s staying for a few weeks is worse---but when they discover their mutual friend loaned out her empty beach cottage to both of them at the same time, Cassidy would like to have the earth swallow her (or Josh) up. When an innocent kiss sparks feelings in Josh, he knows he has to put on the brakes. She’s just coming out of a bad relationship and he hasn’t been with a woman for over a year. Cassidy can’t believe how much a little kiss can rock her world. She was supposed to be married by now to another man—rebounding must really shell shock a girl.

Will Josh and Cassidy be able to break down each other’s barriers? Will they ever learn to admit their own desires to themselves—or more importantly, to each other? Both Josh & Cassidy are warm-hearted characters. They feel like cozy friends whom you’d sit and giggle with. Ms. Dixon has a knack for creating characters who are living and breathing to the reader. She paints us a picture of a wonderful summer romance.

One Shore Thing by Jessica Raymond

Carrie Vaughn has moved to New Bay to try to make a fresh start on her life. After being very publicly accused, verbally abused and divorced by her cheating ex-husband, she is trying to start over. While job hunting, she sees an ad for a deli that states, "Must love cheese." That’s good enough for Carrie. She heads to the deli and meets soon to be new boss, the handsome Noah Trevanion.

Noah has been married to his deli forever. Now his new employee is making him feel things that shouldn’t be felt in an employer-employee situation. After hearing what her ex did to her, he knows she’s not ready for a relationship. Can he keep things on the straight and narrow--and does he want to?

A truly sweet romance awaits the reader. Carrie is the epitome of those who are most harassed by paparazzi. She brings out the mother bear instinct in the reader. You just want to protect her and claw the eyes out of those who would bring her harm. Noah is one of the genuine nice guys that we all hope to meet. He’s honest and dependable and what a bonus that he’s good looking, too.

A Taste of Summer is a fast read, something perfect for the dog days of summer.
