Kerri Sullivan is like most mothers. She’ll do anything for her child. But Kerri is desperate. Her son Cody is running out of time. Literally. He has Gilliar’s Disease and the scientist who had been working on a cure needs money. Lots of it. So she devises a plan to get billionaire Nathan King’s attention and money. She got his attention all right, and his fury. But she’s not going to let a little thing like that stand in the way of a possible cure for her son.
Fury notwithstanding, Nathan allows himself to be blackmailed by the brash woman. After all, he will get something out of the bargain, the permits to build King Towers, which seem to be just out of his reach. Come vote time though, he’ll get the permits…with the positive PR of funding the research and Kerri’s help, the Towers are as good as built.
What neither of them counted on was the friendship that grew or the attraction that began to simmer between them. But they both have different agendas. Once the vote is in they’ll go their separate ways; he to being somebody through the Towers, she to devoting her life to her son. There’s no room for anything else in either of their lives.
There are forces though, ready and eager to see Nathan destroyed; forces that will bring Nathan and Kerri closer together along with unforeseen circumstances. Yet the probability of them having a happily ever after looks slim.
Kerri is the epitome of what a romance heroine should be. She’s feisty, vulnerable, funny, and compassionate. She doesn’t have to resort to spiteful words or actions to get her point across. She’s the type of woman anyone would want as a friend, as a confidant, in their corner.
Nathan is rugged and tough on the outside, yet soft underneath the hard layers. Through his anger and aloofness you knew there was a marshmallow there so there was never a question of booing him. It just took the right woman to reach it, to make him see things in a different light. It was worth the wait. What a hero he is!
I didn’t know what to expect when I picked up Accidentally Yours. Certainly not a story this packed with humor, emotion, pain, and love. It would’ve been a shame had I missed reading Kerri and Nathan’s story. It’s nothing short of sizzling, heart-rending, sigh-inducing.
