Dear Readers:
As always, Ms. Bricker has put together a humorous and entertaining book that is a lot of fun to read.
With this newest novel, she concentrates on two best friends who found each other back in college when they were hunting RoommateScreeners.com trying to find a partner to share the rent with.
Emma Rae is a pastry chef. She is diabetic so can’t actually taste her incredible, delectable treats - but her best friend, Sherilyn - who never seems to gain any weight whatsoever - has been Emma’s personal taste-tester for all their college days. Emma went to Le Cordon Bleu to study, while Sherilyn moved home to Chicago after graduating Emory University in Georgia, just to find and fall in love with a native Georgian named, Andrew Drummond IV. Although his name sounds more than a bit snooty, it is Andrew’s mother, not him, who is the real ‘high and mighty’ one. In fact, Sherilyn is almost petrified to be introduced to her future mother-in-law.
Heading back down to Georgia to live, Sherilyn luckily falls into the job of wedding planner for a beautiful local establishment called, The Tanglewood Inn. She just happened to get said job because Emma Rae works there, and is the significant other of Jackson Drake - the man who owns the Inn.
The one thing Sherilyn can’t seem to come to terms with is the fact that time has caught up with her and she has gained some serious pounds. Now a size twelve, Sherilyn is also dealing with the fact that her wedding dress was lost in transit, and her soon-to-be husband seems to be getting cold feet when they look at a house to buy and talk about the wedding coming up.
In fact, without Emma Rae by her side, Sherilyn may just fall apart once and for all. Add in Emma’s fun parents, Jacksons’ happy and entertaining sisters, a dog that simply refuses to be good, and a celebrity who has to hide-out in order not to find himself in prison for drinking to excess - and you have a fun novel full of friendship, hilarity, romance, and extremely fantastic sounding food! Although nothing new, this is one of those entertaining stories that really makes a rainy Sunday afternoon fun. Enjoy!
Until next time,
Amy
