Assault with a Deadly Glue Gun is a funny and sometimes endearing story. Very cleverly written and very pleasing.
This starts on a sad note when Anastasia Pollock's husband is killed in Las Vegas. He was an addictive gambler and finally played his last game. Her life changes drastically as she is left to care for two teen-age sons alone, a huge amount of debt and her mother-in-law, who is a Communist and loves to swing her cane at people like a sword. Also, to make matters interesting, there is a loan shark that claims that Anastasia's husband owed him fifty thousand dollars.
Anastasia works as a Crafts Editor for American Woman magazine and she finds the dead body of Marlys Vandenberg, the magazine's overly enterprising fashion editor hot-glued to Anastasia's office chair. When she discovers this sight in her office it just makes her life a little bit stickier. Marlys, of course, was the office trouble maker, marriage wrecker and what have you. When it is discovered that Maryls had an affair with Anastasia's husband, she becomes the chief suspect. She goes to work to solve the mystery before she is sent to jail or the real killer puts her out of business permanently.
A really good read with a heroine who is feisty and resourceful. This is one to look up, a real treat. It's funny and thoroughly entertaining throughout. So, enjoy and I'll talk to you soon.
