Dear Readers:

I fell in love with these characters in the first book, Death of a Garage Sale Newbie, of this enchanting series. So when I received Book 2, I was so excited that I wanted to leave my job and go read it cover to cover that minute. There’s always, of course, a little bit of anxiety with a series. There’s a part of you that hopes the writer can keep delivering in the second and third installments with the same vivacity and wonder that they hook you with in the first novel. But there was no need to worry. Sharon Dunn’s characters once again explode off the page.

Start with the title alone. The Six-Foot Teddy Bear is a wonderful character in this book, and an imaginative victim. The lovely Bargain Hunter ladies are back. Arleta is getting older (yet still retains her wonderful spunk). Kindra, the youngest of the group, is still keeping her head about her and concentrating on college and her long-range plans. Suzanne is still as lively as ever and a wonderful mom of four. But the real stars of the show are Ginger and her husband Earl. They were wonderful in the first novel: Having marital difficulties, Ginger had found out that Earl was an inventor and wanted nothing more than to bring his inventions to fruition. The beginning of this tale takes them one-step further.

They hit the road to travel to Calamity, Nevada for the Invention Expo that could make Earl a star. The Bargain Hunters are coming to enjoy the world’s largest garage sale being held in the hotel. From the moment they arrive at the Wind-Up Hotel, the trouble begins. The owner, Dustin Clydell, has overbooked his hotel by having the Invention Expo AND the Squirrel Lovers’ convention at the same time. Earl has lost his booth – his one chance of getting his invention off the ground.

Soon…a man is dead: Mysteriously murdered, he’s found dressed in a teddy-bear costume floating in a gondola. Ginger is immersed in the investigation, even becoming a suspect herself, as two wonderfully written detectives join the story and begin their search for the truth. Stolen jewelry…a disappearing squirrel…a missing beloved cat: The Bargain Hunters swing into action to solve the crime with humor, faith, and friendship. Loved it! **Bring on Number 3!**
