When Ella Mansfield walks into Sam Nelson’s antique store, she literally walks into a whole new world. Nothing is as it seems and it appears Sam has chosen her for a specific reason. But does Ella want to be the chosen one? The reason he had chosen her is hardly flattering.

When Sam places a beaded necklace around her neck, Ella’s life begins to change dramatically. The necklace is pure magic and by having it around her neck Ella in turn becomes magically powerful. There are five sets of these necklaces. A powerful enemy called Bergestein wants all five so he can rule all magic. Sam is determined he will not get them. Ella is not completely sure she believes all that is happening to her. Who is Sam really? And why can’t she take the necklace off?

When Sam asks her to baby-sit sexy, bad boy Quentin, Ella’s life goes from the boring and the mundane to the bizarre and adventurous. Her life had been in a rut, but she begins to wonder if normal and average is better and safer to the magical craziness she is caught up in now. The challenges that face her are enough to drive the sanest person mad. One minute she is in Disneyland then fairyland, and she hasn’t even had time to pack for it.

I believe most people can identify with Ella. Everyone has times in their life when they wonder when something exciting will happen to break the monotony. I like the idea of a magical necklace so powerful it can take you to different places in the blink of an eye and give you the ability to read people’s minds. How handy would that be? I could use that necklace now.

Believe The Magic is a really busy, fast paced book. There were times when the scenes changed so quickly that I had to go back to the previous page to check if I had missed something. I found that a little bit disconcerting.

I am a big fan of the paranormal and Believe The Magic has all the elements of a good paranormal novel. There is time travel, fairies and danger. There is good versus evil. And there is also love and romance and two people getting to know each other in trying, yet interesting circumstances. If you want to zone out for a couple of hours and believe in the possibilities of magic this is the book to do it with.
