Vashti Edwards has had a hard life working in saloons since her parents died, but she is now a Christian and working in a restaurant. Vashti has to get another job as her friends/employers can’t afford to continue to board her with the drop in business since they converted their saloon to a restaurant. Since she was a child, Vashti has always wanted to drive a team and what better team to drive than a stagecoach team. Can Vashti convince the stage overseer, Griffin Bane she can drive?

Ever since he took over the stage line, Griff was being run ragged. He has to sell the tickets, drive the teams and ride shotgun when needed and as the blacksmith and livery owner he’s responsible for the coach teams and local needs. Whew, he needs help and fast but there is no way he will hire a woman – until he finally becomes desperate enough and hires Vashti.

Outlaws are terrorizing the stage lines. Giff has reluctantly engaged the aid of the Ladies Shooting Club. There are a lot of people endangered and Griff is afraid for his drivers, especially Vashti. With growing feelings for Vashti, Griff can’t leave her safety to anyone else so he rides shotgun for her.

Though her feelings for Griff have grown, will Vashti realize she can have a decent life if she trusts God’s leadings? How will the blacksmith’s bravery prove his feelings are genuine? How will God mix justice and love to help the town of Fergus?

The Blacksmith’s Bravery is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ms. Page’s writing gives the reader a front row seat into the story as it unfolds. She’s able to pull the reader into the story from the first page as she mixes a little mystery with inspiration and romance when all combined make a good story. It’s always nice to reacquaint yourself with the characters from the previous books in the series, and this time we get an in-depth view into the pasts of Vashti and Griff – which makes them who they are. I would have liked an epilogue to see how my friends of the Ladies Shooting Club have flourished over time.

Even at that, The Ladies Shooting Club series is a keeper. My visits to Fergus make me feel like I have friends that I could call on any time. Take the time to visit Fergus; I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.
