Tilda, the freelance writer for the entertainment magazine Entertain Me has just been offered an opportunity and job she cannot turn down. Her ex-boyfriend Nick's father Dom has just set up an interview with John Laryea, one of the Blastoff brothers from the children's show, "The Blastoffs."
Laryea is on his way to The Cape to start filming the movie Pharos, which is based on a very popular but short-lived comic book. Tilda conducts her interview during the drive. When they all arrive at the hotel someone that Laryea does not want to talk to is waiting for him. Tilda volunteers to be the distraction so Laryea and his crew can get into the hotel without being bothered.
After doing her good deed, Tilda is given a free dinner at the hotel and a private meeting with Pharos director, Joni Langevoort; producer, Edwina Hudson and screenplay writer Dolores Goldin. As it turns out, this trio has a job they would like Tilda to take on while they are on The Cape.
From this point on, in my opinion, the book gets to that point of "not wanting to put it down" good. The job Tilda is offered to find Leviathan, the mind behind the Pharos comic book. No one knows who this person is or what happened to them when the comic was done being produced.
Not long after accepting the job and getting set up in her cottage hotel room, Tilda is walking to the main hotel one night when out of nowhere a limo comes driving out of control behind her. Then while she is watching, the limo hits two other people walking further up the road. Unfortunately the two people hit are Laryea and his assistant. From that moment on, because Tilda was the only witness of the hit and run, she starts to get threats for her life, which does not make her finding out who Leviathan any easier. Let's just say the end of the book is not what you expect it to be. The two people revealed at the end of the book as 1. The hit and run driver and 2. Leviathan are not who you suspect. Though at times you do think you have it figured out!
I loved reading this book. Mysteries are a great way to waste away a day—especially if they are written as well as Toni L. P. Kelner writes them. She just knows how set up the mystery and the suspense of what is going to happen to keep you turning the pages no matter what you have to do that day or what you wanted to accomplish!
