From an author who actually lives her life as a missionary in Mozambique, Africa, comes another story in her series. This book is filled with vivid detail and heart-wrenching drama that will make readers want to stand up and scream at the horror that is happening all around the world.
In the Republic of Dhambizao, government soldiers have been ordered by President Tau to round up all the Ghost Soldiers in the area. Now, the Ghost Soldiers were once President Tauís hand-picked and hand-trained guards that he used for himself and his regime. But now that the UN is threatening to stop sending supplies and money to his government, Tau has decided to label the Ghost Soldiers as rebels - terrorists that are invading his country.
Jonas Moya is one of these Ghost Soldiers and has just seen his own brother shot in the streets. He is so angry that he canít believe his own government has turned against them - especially since they were among the elite just a short time ago. Playing into the governmentís hands, Jonas decides that his small group of friends WILL become the rebels they have been marked as, and begin to destroy the country that has turned against them.
Dr. Paige Ryan began with Volunteers of Hope International a while back, but sheís gotten to the point - after seeing the hideous living quarters and lives that these poor people have to suffer, not to mention the horrific medical care that they receive - that itís time for her to pack her bags and go home. She has one job left to do, and she heads out with the convoy being sent to a refugee camp where hundreds are fleeing to in order to get some help. Paige only believes she will be there just a few days, setting things up and giving these people the best care she can - even though she knows it will never be enough.
Her closest ally is Nick Gilbert, an expert pilot who is used to flying in and out of war-torn areas. As they embark on this new trip, Nick finds himself being pulled heart and soul toward the angry Doctor who has decided that their mission is hopeless.
Add in a man and his wife who are spending their honeymoon in Africa trekking across the land; a major television star who has always been a princess, who has just recently lost her father on this trip as they journeyed up the side of a Mountain; and, a man at the American Embassy trying his absolute best to stop an all-out war while trying to get back home to his wife and family, and you have the makings of an amazing story filled with suspense, mystery, and a complete cry out to humans everywhere to stop the madness that is going on in the real world.
This book offers an in-depth look at everything from a refugee camp to a rebel base, to an abduction, and a recovery mission that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. In addition, the characters - whether on the side of good or evil - are shown with a heart that has been damaged by human beings who use others as pawns in order to get what they want. An incredible story that will live in your mind for a long, long time to come.
