A spa is about to open in the small town of Scumble River. Maybe. If Skye Denison can figure out who is behind the vandalism to the property, before the official opening. In addition, she’s to look for the treasure someone’s been hunting for on spa property, also.

Piece of cake (which is not served at the spa). Or at least it should have been, before she found a dead body in the mud bath. Now there’s a murder to solve, too. But why would someone want former model, Esmé, dead? What was her crime, other than botoxing her face into an unmovable mask?

In the midst of questioning and sifting through information, Skye’s love life unexpectedly takes a drastic turn, which has the potential to leave her at a crossroad. Something she hasn’t time to deal with as she has her hands full with her entourage of sorts "helping" her try to figure out who the treasure hunter/vandal is. Plus her timeline is tight; she has until the end of the Thanksgiving weekend to find out who killed Esmé. Definitely not easy considering people are led to believe a spa protester, who confessed, is the real killer.

Not only has Denise Swanson given readers a reason to revisit Scumble River; recurring and new characters, some of who are quite colorful, fast-paced drama, and clues within clues...she’s left the door wide open to another mystery. There were clues and a question or two unanswered. Nothing like leaving the reader hanging and waiting for more!

If you’re unfamiliar with the Scumble River mysteries, take the time to get acquainted with Skye and her friends and family (be advised, the relationships do progress and change from book to book). There’s a clever and colorful blend of mystery, romance, and humor in Murder of a Botoxed Blonde.
