After five years of a respectable, professional working relationship, Sallie Archer and Cade Langden are beginning to see each other in a new light. After Sallie’s home is broken-in to and her life threatened, Cade comes to her rescue in a rather intimate way, which gives both he and Sallie an unexpected surge of emotions neither knew existed.

While Cade wants to explore the new dynamic in their relationship, Sallie wants nothing more than to pretend it doesn’t exist. She’s too conservative and proper to entertain the thought of having an affair with her boss, no matter how dashing, sexy, and perfect he may be. So, why can’t she stop thinking about him?

Sallie and Cade’s growing attraction isn’t their only worry. When the break-in at Sallie’s house turns out to be more than a random crime, she and Cade set out to discover what’s at the bottom of the incidents threatening her personal life as well as his company. Are they connected, and if so, what’s the motive? Is one of Sallie’s past secrets coming back to haunt her, taking Cade’s family business down in the process? Or, does Cade have enemies trying to get to him through Sallie? Whatever the cause, none of it seems nearly as dangerous as their growing passion for each other.

Cade’s Challenge is the epitome of the steamy romance novel. The chemistry between Cade and Sallie was combustible and their love scenes so hot, I swear I saw steam rise from the pages. The mystery is interesting and unpredictable, but the real story is the romance, and I enjoyed watching it unfold.

Every woman dreams of finding a man as perfect as Cade. I had a hard time believing some of the things he said, because I just can’t imagine a man feeling the things he felt for Sallie, much less verbalizing them. But, regardless of whether or not the dialogue was always believable, the story was written beautifully, and I found myself so engrossed I had to force myself to stop reading. It’s an intriguing, romantic, and ultra sexy story, and I highly recommend it.
