A wonderful tale of a librarian and her two magical cats. One seems to be able to walk through walls and the other just disappears at will.
Kathleen Paulson has left her life in Boston to move to a small town, Mayville, MN, to take over as head librarian at the town library which is about to undergo renovations. She has also adopted two cats that have personalities of their own. They have completely helped themselves to her home and friends and will help her out in her hour of need. Owen is a tabby cat who has a fierce addiction to cat nip and Hercules is a tuxedo cat who loves the music of Barry Manilow. But, these two cats have a lot more to their senses that will help Kathleen adjust to her new job and home.
When Mayville's Wild Rose Summer Music Festival is about to begin, well known composer and conductor, Gregor Easton is found murdered. Kathleen is thought to be the prime suspect as the two of them had had an altercation at the library the previous day. She enlists the help of her exercise buddies and goes on the hunt for the murderer. Her two special cats interfere at every step to guide her in the right direction and the final pages of this cozy are very interesting, especially for cat lovers.
I enjoyed this book from the first to last page. Owen and Hercules are very smart and loving to their adopted mom. It reminds me that there is a saying that you should never try to upstage an animal or child as they always come off looking better than you do. This book proves that point. A really fun read so, enjoy and I'll talk to you soon.
