Things are just a bit off kilter for Tori:
1. She has yet to make up her mind to accept or reject Milo’s marriage proposal.
2. Dixie Dunn (sewing circle member) is helping her at the library, and if you remember Dixie, that could be worrisome.
3. Her ex-fiancé (Jeffrey the Cheat) is in the area for his aunt’s funeral, which sets Tori’s insecurities soaring.
4. Jeffrey has a heart attack while jogging.

It’s all enough to cause a heap of stress and a lot of worry.

A weekend away with her sewing circle is just what she needed. A little gossip, a little sewing, a lot of relaxation. Yes, that will do the trick. And it does.

For a very short time.

Dear old Rose drops the bomb that Jeff may have been murdered. While he may not have been at the top of her favorite people list, she certainly didn’t wish him any ill. Well, maybe she did, just not dead.

Tragedy strikes in another form adding to the burdens resting on Tori’s shoulders. If only she could be certain, one way or another, of anything…there has been nothing but turmoil for at least a week, maybe more. Answers would be nice; and they often come when you least expect them.

A bit slim on my take of what’s what with Tori? Yes, but you wouldn’t want me to expose all her troubles to you, would you, dear reader?

Ms. Casey turned up the tension and confusion within Tori in this Sewing Circle mystery. You can definitely tell that Tori just wasn’t the same Tori from previous investigations. It was a different tact for her and I’m on the fence as to how I felt about that. Sure, she’s ‘human’ and can’t have a mild mannered take-charge attitude that shows an underlying sense of confidence…but still, things felt…off. Not only with Tori, but her boyfriend Milo, too.

Oh, you’ll be happy to know that some of the mystery to Leona is revealed. I know I was. Which is good since she was very hard to like for me.

All in all I always look forward to seeing what disaster of the criminal vein befalls Tori and the sewing circle. And why not? This series has its own brand of charm, intrigue, and unique characters.

Happy reading!
Connie
