Maddie Temple has lost everything. Her father has died in a horrible crash. Her twin sister has been lying in a coma for the last ten years and her mother has denied anything that has happened so much she no longer knows fiction from reality. Maddie thinks that she is finally starting to get her life back together. She is doing great work in the ER at a local hospital and is seeing Dr. Jared Keith who is the head of psychiatry. Then the horrible dreams start happening again. She shares a psychic link with her sister that has kept them close since they were children. Since her fatherís accident and her sisterís hospitalization, Maddie has been having terrible dreams of her sister. Maddie thinks she is going crazy and the psychic link between the sisters is threatening to drive Maddie over the edge.
What Maddie doesnít know is that her sister has not been in a coma the past ten years. Instead she has been kept in a dream-like state being used in a government experiment. Maddie must enlist the help of Dr. Keith and her twinís psychic link to find her and save herself from insanity.
This was a difficult book to read at first. I even considered putting it down a couple times. Iím glad that I didnít put it down for good. Once I got past the first couple chapters and got into the flow of the book, it was really quite good. I think the problem for me was that it just dove right into the action from the beginning. I am used to books setting up the stage for the conflict and introducing a little background first.
Other than that this book is really good. Itís more of a paranormal mystery than romance. Itís got action, romance, deception, government conspiracies and paranormal mystery. Madeline Temple is a great character. I really was rooting for her through the whole book. Sheís had so much tragedy in her life and just when you think sheíll pull through, she gets slapped with another problem. The ending definitely threw me also so be forewarned it wonít be what you think. Again, the book is fast-paced at the beginning but stick with it. It is definitely a must read.
