Who would ever believe that Jake "The Rake" Sims would purchase a home in an exclusive, gated, cul-de-sac in the suburbs of Chicago. Does he think that this "premise" of respectability will fool his neighbors and the social worker involved in the custody case for his teenage daughter Danielle?

Alicia’s had her heart broken one too many times by men like Jake. She’s on her toes and wary of his supposed change of lifestyle. After her messy divorce, she’s not looking for a man. She is just fine with the Housewives Fantasy Club where her best friends and neighbors meet and share fantasies.

Now these friends are trying to set her up with Jake. She doesn’t believe he is reformed and she won’t be another conquest for "The Rake". She can keep her distance—even though he is her utmost fantasy lover. Even her friends don’t know he was her first celebrity crush. Can they get Jake (or Alicia) to relax long enough to enjoy each other’s company? Or will a fantasy be all they ever have?

This book is as sweet as Candy…pun intended. I think Candy Halliday has hit on a winning combination with her Housewives Fantasy Club as well as with Jake & Alicia. Both are such very strong personalities and when they butt heads, the sparks fly. Ms. Halliday has a fantastic sense of humor that comes through her characters. While she hits on some tough issues, she presents them in a warm and lighter manner. If you are new to the series, I don’t think you will feel lost in it. Ms. Halliday dovetails the two books together very nicely. I wonder if there will be a third one coming?

Overall, it was a quick read that really grabbed me and held my attention. I think this book will appeal to women from all ages and life experiences. It was just plain fun.
