Pia Giovanni is half human and half Wyr (a being able to shift into a certain animal which varies from being to being). Her mother had always stressed how important it was for Pia to hide the Wyr part of her in order to blend in with humans. Her mother was always afraid that Pia would find herself in a world of trouble had she been exposed. Now Pia is wishing she had listened more closely. Thanks to her troubled boyfriend, Pia now has to face the consequences of trying to help him get out of a jam. She has stolen a piece of a dragonís treasure. Unfortunately this is no ordinary dragon. Dragos Cuelebre is the biggest and meanest dragon in New York City and he is aware of Piaís theft.

Dragos is not only CEO of Cuelebre Enterprises, but he is the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind. He rules with an iron fist and has the power and muscle to back it up. Imagine his surprise when he finds that someone has broken into his secret lair and stolen a piece of his treasure. With the help of his top associates, Dragos hunts down Pia and takes her back to Cuelebre Towers to await his judgment. Noting the spark of desire between them, Dragos decides to spare Piaís life and their life becomes a whirlwind of passion, mystery and danger.

This is definitely one of the best books that I have come across lately. I havenít read many books that deal with shape-shifting dragons and was completely hooked from the very first page. I love seeing how a very shy woman trying to find her place in the world is able to tame the wild beast (or in this case a dragon ). I wonít give too much away as to the ending but I think readers will be spellbound and captivated by Pia and Dragosí love story. This is by far a must read and a great way to start off a wonderful new series.
