Shona Blackwood is a glass artist who has lost her ability to create. She knows she should be panicked but all she feels is numb like it doesnít matter if she ever gets her creativity back. While leaving a club she is nearly mugged and then is rescued by a man who makes her all her senses come alive.
Logan Andrews is a magical troubleshooter who is assigned to look after Shona from enemies who want her dead. Shona is a dormant (a person that is unaware of their magical abilities) and has no idea that magic exists or that she is to be a major player in the upcoming struggle between good and evil. Logan has been ordered not to tell her anything about who he is or who she is, but he finds himself falling for Shona. He finds himself torn between his loyalty for his people and his new love for Shona.
This is a typical romance story and is well written. I loved the dynamic between Logan and Shona. She is the typical shy, nerdy girl (I definitely can relate to her) who doesnít know how special she is. In comes Logan, a sexy, confident man who opens her eyes to the world. I found myself turning page after page until the very end and was sad to see I had finished. Itís a classic love story with the guy assigned to protect the girl and finding himself falling for her. The paranormal aspects arenít so far-fetched as to make it unbelievable. I canít wait to read the next in this series.
