Felix "Blue" Perrineau is an agent of Dirk and Steele agency, whose
operatives are psychics and shapeshifters, These agents use their
special gifts to make the world a better place by putting away the bad
guys. While Blue is in Indonesia trying to catch a broker of body
parts, a mysterious woman almost kills him with a bomb. Blue only
survives with the aid of his friends from Dirk and Steele, but he is
determined to continue his hunt. Unfortunately, his father, who is
powerful and manipulative, blackmails Blue into finding his
half-brother, Daniel. When Blue discovers his brother performing at a
circus, he, also, meets the lovely animal trainer, Iris McGillis. Iris
is hiding a secret about herself and has managed to acquire a stalker.
Blue, Daniel, and Iris find themselves enmeshed in danger and intrigue.
Eye of Heaven is a gritty, exciting paranormal romance with complex characters and a very involving plot. Ms. Liu weaves a tale that kept me on the edge of my seat and sometimes it was hard to tell the good guys from the bad, Just when I had a character pegged as totally evil, he would do something to almost redeem himself. There are no one-dimensional characters here. Eye of Heaven left me wanting more, and I can't wait to read the next Dirk and Steele book.
