"Darius of Faucon has been sent on a king's mission - to thwart the local smugglers and protect the widow of Thornson Keep until a husband can be found for her. A seemingly simple task for such a noble knight - until he sets eyes on Marguerite, his childhood love...and Lady of Thornson!

Though Marguerite was forced to wed another, she never let go of the passion she once shared with Darius--nor forgot the gift he unknowingly bestowed upon her. Now she must send Darius away before he discovers the truth.... "

What a great Medieval novel! This is the first of the Falcon books that I have read. While it is connected to Falcon’s Desire and Falcon’s Honor, it truly did stand alone. In fact, I thought it was a stand alone book until I looked at Ms. Lynn’s website. However, I’m happy to discover I can read about Darius’ brothers and what has gone on before this book.

Ms. Lynn gives such wonderful descriptions in this book. She describes the keep and its secret passageways so well that I believe I could draw an accurate map of their layout without ever having seen the maps talked about in the book. I was very impressed that I could visualize the setting so well from her descriptions. I also applaud Ms. Lynn and her use of a little mystery and intrigue to keep things interesting.

Marguerite and Darius have quite a love-hate relationship. Sparks (both of anger and attraction) fly whenever they are together---and sometimes when they are apart. Both are headstrong and determined to do what’s right, but only their own way. It makes for some interesting and uniquely humorous situations as they each try to get to the same end by different means. Usually, their means of getting to the end causes more problems and confusion for the other characters. I found Falcon’s Love to be an enjoyable read. It wasn’t a heart stopping page-turner, but I was reluctant to put it down.

For anyone who has read the prior books in the series, I believe some of the "old friends" are in this book or make appearances. We meet Darius’ brother Rhys and his second in command is Osbert. We also spend time with the Earl of York who torments Darius at every turn.

I hope you will enjoy Falcon’s Love as much as I did. Medieval is my favorite genre and I sometimes critique these books a little harder because I am so familiar with the settings and the time period. I was happy to find out that Ms. Lynn did not disappoint me in her portrayal of Medieval England. She is a master storyteller and I look forward to reading more books written by Ms. Lynn.
