Wow, what a mess she’s in. In an effort to thwart her mother’s meddling matchmaking attempts (they’re horrendous) Debra Daniels does what any sane, single woman would do. She buys a faux fiancé in a box. That’s right, in a box. All the information and helpful subterfuge one would need to feed office workers and meddling mother’s is included; photo, family/life history, likes/dislikes.
The only problem? The last "fiancé" available is Lawyer Logan (she abhors lawyers), but for the greater good (PEACE) she’ll pretend a change of heart; he’s not like other lawyers you know. But, that’s not her only problem. Turns out at some point Lawyer Logan comes to life. Real life, as in no longer imaginary, with memories of dates they never went on and having feelings for her he couldn’t possibly have.
What is she to do when everyone falls for Lawyer Logan and won’t believe her when she says he’s non-existent, a phony, possibly a serial killer? What is she to do when she starts falling for Lawyer Logan? What is she to do when a rash and drastic act turns the tables on her? Fight that's what, however it's not nearly as simple as she thinks it's going to be.
Debra’s reactions to the impossible situation range from aggravating to hilarious; seemingly insane, but never boring. And just when you begin to think the scene/story can't go anywhere else, Kathleen Bacus makes a one-eighty (more than once) creating new spins to the scene, to the entire story; characters attitudes get adjusted (sometimes for the better, sometimes not) and emotions are examined, turned inside out and upside down.
Books by Kathleen Bacus have become automatic buys for me. I’m never disappointed and always entertained. When I finish one of her books it’s always with a smile. Fiancé At Her Fingertips was no different. Totally fun and "out of the box."
