Dear Readers,

A really fun cozy with recipes included. My favorite kind.

Aunt Pat's is a barbecue restaurant found on Beale Street in Memphis. It's a family restaurant, located in the middle of Memphis and named for Lulu Taylor's Aunt Pat that serves up famous ribs and spicy corn bread to their customers. Aunt Pat's has been around for many years and, that's why it's such a surprise when the establishment gets a very bad review in the local paper from a new food critic named Eppie Currian (cute). This critic hasn't kept all of her blasts for Aunt Pat's, she seems to be after all restaurants on Beale St. and there are many. The owner Lulu Taylor and her son Ben are really angry about this unknown and unwanted critic and make no bones about it to all comers.

Lulu, Ben and other restaurant owners who have been slammed by Eppie discover that she is a he and he is the cheating boyfriend of a very good friend of Lulus. He does get his own "Killer" review in spades. The list of prime suspects is tremendous including: two very upset ex-wives; a former restaurant owner who closed because of the bad reviews; and people from Aunt Pat's barbecue kitchen. Lulu and her friends the Graces; (The name comes from the fact that they are docents at Graceland, Elvis Presley's home) are on the hunt for the killer and want to settle this before her own loved ones are looked upon with suspicion.

An excellent read as good as Riley's first book Delicious and Suspicious, with the same characters. I'm looking forward to reading many more Lulu Taylor mysteries from this writer.
