Rowie Shakespeare has a psychic gift. She also has the added ability to be able to predict the weather for her friends and neighbours. She is never wrong. When the producer for a local news station hears of her talent, she offers her a job as a replacement weather reader.

Drew Henderson, the current weatherman, is laid up in bed after an accident. He knows he has to be temporarily replaced but he is worried about the effect on his ratings. His fears are allayed when he meets Rowie and the public loves her.

The attraction between Rowie and Drew is immediate. From the first kiss with Drew, Rowie knows her future. They fall in a love and everything is perfect. However when Rowie is put permanently in Drew’s weather spot on television things start to go awry between the two lovers. Drew is suspicious of her motives and deliberately sets about throwing Rowie off kilter in her weather predictions.

I liked the concept of Rowie’s frst kiss with a man. I won’t spoil it but suffice to say it’s a nice, romantic ploy. The romance between Rowie and Drew is believable as they are likeable characters and you want them to get together. There are some great secondary characters in Forecast. I particularly liked Jess, the tough producer who is infatuated with Drew and wants to believe so much in a future between them. As for Rowie’s family, they are excellent side characters who have their own little romances and action going on.

In some parts I found the action a little slow and predicable but not enough to dissuade me from reading further. You still want to see and feel that happy ever after ending.

Forecast is a feel good story where you want the two would be lovers together. The ending is sweet and exactly as it should be. True romantics will not be disappointed in this book.
