Ginger, the baby boomer; Kindra, the college student; Suzanne, the pregnant mother of three; and Mary Margret, the silver-haired real estate agent – what do they all have in common? They love garage sales and are the wonderful characters of the Bargain Hunters Network. One of the best things, if not the best thing, in their lives is getting together and going on the hunt for priceless treasures stashed away in people’s garages and basements.

However, when one of the price savvy women finds a treasure from the past, she suddenly goes missing. It will take her friends’ combined strength and perseverance to unlock the disturbing secrets that have been buried away in someone’s "junk" for the past twenty years. The amateur sleuths soon find themselves immersed in a dark world of bribery, greed and deception – where people you know may not be what they seem.

This is a good read for many reasons but, to me, it’s the characters that sing the praises of this author. Each character of the Bargain Hunters Network is fun, charismatic, smart, and extremely entertaining. In addition, they are true women with real life worries like marriage and children, who give good advice and a shoulder for their friends in their time of need. And that’s the real hook here. The camaraderie and bonds, no matter what the age, between these women, and their belief in God, bring them through this story with grace and fun. There is a wonderful line in this book that states, ‘you meet the nicest people in clearance racks.’ If that’s the place to find lifelong friends like these then I say, let’s go shopping.

I am hopeful for this series and I can’t wait to meet up with these characters again someday.
