They were supposed to travel to Dunkirk to do some ghost-busting for their television show, Ghoul Getters. Tragedy, however, struck the family of M.J. Holliday’s ghost-busting partner and current BF, Heath Whitefeather. Dunkirk was going to have to wait as M.J.’s spirit guide (and Heath’s grandfather), Sam Whitefeather, told her that an evil demon had been released from its prison and was bent on destroying, killing, every Whitefeather on the Pueblo. M.J. and Heath must STOP it and recapture it before that could happen. They also must find the person(s) who released it and is controlling it.
Much easier said than done. Once they learn exactly what they’re up against they, M.J., Heath, and Gilley (M.J.’s BFF and important member of Ghoul Getters), realize this is a far worse situation than they’ve ever been in before.
It doesn’t help matters when they are met with a great deal of resistance from Heath’s family and the Pueblo’s sheriff and deputy. They’re not granted access to vital Whitefeather legends and history. And their access to the Pueblo is very limited. Drastic measures are called for. NOW.
Why? Well, Whitefeathers are being attacked. M.J. and Gilley have a personal and terrifying encounter with the demon, Black Hawk. Time is ticking away…if they have to do a little hacking and sleuthing on their own to get the info they need to defeat this demon, then that’s what they’ll do.
Surrounded by danger, evil, and people who should be believers and supportive, but aren’t, they find they are on their own. Something M.J. and Heath and Gilley have become used to. There’s a good chance, however, that they won’t come out the other side of this demon-bust unscathed or alive.
I’ve been a bit sketchy in telling you, dear reader, about the demon and the legend behind it. I’ve left out even the smallest hint of the who, how, and why. To do so would be a disservice to you. It would take away from the intrigue and intensity and enjoyment as you turn page after page.
Victoria Laurie stays true to her characters and their personalities and values. They work as a (oft times squabbling) unit. M.J. and Heath are dedicated to their psychic abilities and to keeping their relationship on track as well a determined to bust ghosts and demons to keep others sane and safe.
Gilley’s theatrics, though I think he’d be appalled that I said that as he is deadly serious, are hilarious. He is the comic relief amongst very intense events.
I’m a huge fan of the Ghost Hunter series (the Psychic Eye series, too!). Ms. Laurie can certainly cram a book and its plot with book-gripping drama, paranormal thrills and chills, and compelling action. But that’s not all. She also adds a healthy dose of fun and romance. A (figuratively) spine-shivering reading experience not to be missed.
Happy reading,
Connie
