A fun read. If you are a fan of the TV show Burn Notice you will, of course, know the characters. I have never seen the show, so I'll try and explain the plot.
Michael Westen is a former covert op (SPY) who gets a Burn Notice, which means that he loses his job, his contacts, his protection and maybe his life if he is not careful. In the past, Michael has called upon Barry, who is a local money launderer and an old contact of Michaels. Barry now wants Michael's help to assist a friend of his. Bruce Grossman is a former gentleman thief that finally got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He has been released from prison but, has an ailing mother to take care of and support and has had to go back to his former job which was stealing. His most recent theft involved the Ghouls, a notorious motorcycle gang and they are looking for some payback from Bruce. Michael has to try and keep his client alive, along with having to deal with some killer bikers, and find a way to solve the situation before this favor for a friend turns out to be his final favor.
As I said, this book is a fun read even if you haven't seen the TV show. I enjoyed it. Michael is very likeable. A kind of smart-mouthed loner who is trying to keep one step ahead of the bad guys. He comes off as being very carefree, calm and unbothered. Readers will enjoy this book and read it in one sitting so they can go out and get the others in the series. Enjoy and I'll talk to you soon.
