Ten year old Grace Morgan has been protecting her cousin Drew from the class bully, Raggy Langler as best she can. Grace canít understand why Raggy is bullying Drew, after all itís not Drew that is dirty and unkempt; why Raggy doesnít even have a decent place to live.
Summer came and with it a drought developed. Since Graceís family made their living building ships, it wasnít long before the work almost stopped. Things became strained at the Morgan household and soon Grace and Drew got a little taste of how Raggy might feel. That didnít stop Raggy from picking on Drew and even Grace. It didnít stop Grace from getting into trouble from time to time either but sheís learning a lesson that she wonít soon forget.
Will Grace, Drew and Raggy ever become friends? Will they learn the lessons that their parents/guardians and God want them to learn?
Grace and Drew are typical kids that learn a difficult lesson. The author does a great job of teaching this lesson. Itís a lesson thatís the same across time and one that we all should remember. The old saying of "walk a mile in my shoes" before criticizing that person applies here.
Though this is my first Sisterís in Time series read, I think I can safely recommend any book in this series to young ladies and their parents who enjoy the historical setting with a hint of inspiration.
