Though he was a doctor, a pediatrician, there had been nothing he could do to cure his wife’s cancer. His beloved Hannah. It’s been a year since Hannah passed and Michael Everett has barely been going through the motions. Every bit of color and life remind him of Hannah’s goodness, their love, of what he no longer has. He has no desire to pop out of the bubble he’d created for himself. But he may not have a choice.
Hannah wrote Michael a letter to be given to him on the anniversary of her death. In it she encourages Michael to live again, find love again. As if that weren’t asking too much of him, she even presents him with a list of three potential girlfriend/wife candidates. Ridiculous! Impossible! He’s not going to seek these women out to try and replace Hannah.
Yet events unfold that place Michael in the path of each of the women’s lives. Each of whom have some sort of pain and concerns to work through. As Michael interacts with the women, priorities seem to become clearer and life a bit brighter. For all concerned. Will it mean a future for Michael with one of these women or will it simply open the door for him to explore the possibilities life is willing to offer?
Ms. Macomber has penned a unique tale of second chance at love. The struggles and emotional pain of each character is touching. It’s inspiring and encouraging to be reminded that there is hope of life and love and happiness after personal tragedy, as well as the fact that we all are deserving of a second chance; it makes no difference what mistakes have been made.
A heartfelt journey of life, love, and laughter. One that will warm the heart.
Happy reading,
Connie
