As a Ranger, Carson Quinn is sworn to protect the citizens of Texas whether they are old or brand-new citizens. So despite his own problems Carson sets out to lead the German immigrants who canít find transportation to the land that is promised to them.
Mariel Wolffe has endured many hardships before she left Germany. Forced to become a servant, Mariel is sure that she will never find a good man and have a family as she is beneath all those she looks up to. Mariel is determined to become a Texas woman but she wonders what God has in store for her as the hardships continue.
Unpleasant circumstances force Carson to stand-up for Mariel and protect her. As they are thrown together more and more, it doesnít take long for their feelings to grow. When Carson and his party meet up with his family, they ask Mariel to come back to their ranch with them. She canít believe her good fortune; can family really feel this good, give her this much joy. What a blessing Texas has become.
But soon the unrest that claimed the Texans before the Texas Revolution and since the annexation of Texas to the United States comes to a head. War is eminent and Carson knows how it can tear apart family, the people and its country. Carson and Muriel must face the tragedies of war together; but other twists of life can also pull their young love apart.
How will God protect Carson and Muriel, his family and friends? Will they be able to endure the twists of life God throws in their path? Will Muriel finally trust her heart and God to give her "her abundant joy"?
Her Abundant Joy follows the previous books in this series as an action-packed inspirational story that will surprise the reader until the end. Lyn Cote has continued to surround the story of the Quinn family with the rich Texas history and as with the others has weaved them very nicely together.
Lyn has a way of writing strong characters that will touch the heart with their faith and determination to make a better life for themselves, their family and all citizens of Texas. Muriel and Carson have seen the hardships of life but are strong enough to trust God to overcome.
If you enjoy a subtle hint of inspiration and the abundant history of Texas, I highly recommend the Texas Star of Destiny series. It wonít disappoint.
