When Alaina Sandoval reached her 18th birthday she became the "doŮa" of Sandoval Ranch. She was determined to prove that she could run the biggest ranch south of San Antonio and that she could do it as well if not better than any man. But there are those who have other plans for Rancho Sandoval and they donít include Alaina.

With the threat to Alaina, her land and people, her childhood guardians, Dorrit and Quinn are determined to protect her and send over their best ranch hand, and loyal friend, Scully Falconer. The last thing Alaina wants is Scully watching over her, always under foot. But fear overcomes her pride and she relents.

Scully doesnít want to watch over Alaina any more than she wants him there but he will do what Quinn asks him to do. Besides he wants no harm to come to Alaina, he really does want whatís best for her. Scully is only a ranch hand, doing what heís told and trying to hold his feelings in check.

Alainaís "long-lost" family decides they will have her land so the only scheme Alaina and Scully can think of to protect her inheritance is for them to marry. And so they do. Meanwhile, the Texas Revolution is heating up, life has become very unsettling and Alaina is kidnapped. Why canít God stop this evil happening all around them? All Alaina wants to do is run Rancho Sandoval and be the independent woman sheís been raised to be.

It doesnít take long for Scully and Alaina to realize that they both want their marriage to work. But first they have to make it through this troubling time. Will Alaina be able to trust God realizing that there are bad things that happen? Will Scully be able to trust God completely so he and Alaina can have a real marriage? And what will become of her inheritance?

Her Inheritance Forever is an action-packed inspirational story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Lyn Cote has incorporated a lot of history but with the setting and characters she has weaved them very nicely together. The characters are very strong yet touching and you canít help but root for Alaina and Scully. I enjoyed "seeing" the characters from the 1st book, The Desires of Her Heart. I found Her Inheritance Forever stands on itís own but reading the 1st book will give the reader more history as they are interwoven nicely together.

As always, Iíve enjoyed Lynís story. She always seems to create the right mix to keep the reader entertained as well as touch the heart. I anxiously await the last book in the Texas Star of Destiny series.
