Dear Readers,
We are back for the third book in the Memphis BBQ Series and, I think the best so far. Lulu Taylor, the owner of the family run Aunt Pat's Barbeque Restaurant, located in Elvisland (Memphis) is at it again. While her son and his wife have taken over most of the cooking chores, Lulu likes to get into investigating crimes that have happened locally. She does OK as she knows almost everyone in the area and most of them come to her BBQ restaurant to eat so often that she can put in their orders when she sees them coming in the door.
There is one woman that Lulu could do without however, and that is Tristan Pembroke, who is an upper crust type. She is the local beauty pageant coach and has a mean disposition concerning all or most of the girls who get tangled up in beauty contests along with their stage mothers. When Lulu attends an art show at Tristan's home she ends up finding Tristan's dead body in a closet. Lulu and her daughter-in-law are suspects right away as they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is not unusual for Lulu but, it rings her investigating bell and she starts to check on any and all people who attended the show. Unfortunately, another body turns up near the Barbeque Restaurant that makes it more difficult for Lulu to find the original killer.
This is a really enjoyable cozy as were the first two with some delicious recipes in the back of the book. The author has a great sense of humor and the characters are very well written. But, your mouths will be watering over the descriptions of the food. Enjoy!!
