This is the third book in the Kate Holly series. Kate is a psychologist who could benefit from her own advice. Her problems began when she lost her firefighter father when she was younger. Instead of dealing with the hurt and pain she bottled it up and now has OCD issues. Kate has also, against her own advice, married a firefighter and has an on-again, off-again relationship with him. Her mother and aunt also add to her stress. They own a business where they find junk and turn it into art and Kate has had to deal with the humiliation of that job.
Just when Kate doesnít think her life can get any more stressful, her best friend and secretary Mona comes down with a bad case of hives and wonít be able to work for at least a couple of weeks. Kate is forced to hire a temp to fill in. The temp agency sends Abigail. Kate wonders if she will fit in and is pleasantly surprised to find the young girl is wonderful. Little does she know that her anxiety is about to reach a new high.
I usually read paranormal romances but every once in a while I like a good cozy mystery. Charlotte Hughes is funny and writes such interesting characters. Kateís high anxiety life is a whirlwind of ups and downs. Readers will find themselves laughing at all the situations that Kate Holly finds herself in. I loved Kateís friend Mona. I donít think Iíve laughed so hard in a long time. Anyone who enjoys a nice laugh and a great mystery will love reading about Kate Holly.
