Dear Readers,

In Scotland, in the ancient Castle of Braigh, there lives a secret village of outcasts that have created their own livelihood or private sanctuary from the world. Serena Boyd and her mother and nurse are there because Serena suffers from the falling sickness (epilepsy) which resulted in her mother and nurse taking her from her home when she was born to keep her from being killed by her father.

Gavin MacKenzie, a chieftain heir is hired to restore the ancient castle and meets Serena. She touches his heart but, he cannot understand why she avoids him. Serena works for the present Laird who is torn between his feelings for Serena and the fact that she is beneath his station in life. Gavin also finds himself falling for Serena. The villagers at the Castle are keeping a secret too and when enemies attack them there is a very painful betrayal. Gavin has to prepare a defense and the villagers unite to fight their enemies.

This story is beautiful which will keep the reader turning the pages until the end to see what happens next. It is full of wonderful characters, love, amusement and mystery - everything a great Christian fiction should contain. Readers will want to escape their daily lives and go to the Highlands. This is a must read for everyone! Mary
