She doesn’t know her name or remember her past…

Jake Trayner finds a woman alone and injured on his ranch. His instincts tells him she’s telling the truth when she claims to remember nothing, yet his past experience with the Rangers tell him to err on the side of caution regardless of how her smile affects him or how protective he feels of her. But instincts quickly win out.

"Sunni" has nothing but bad dreams and a few brief flashes of memories to go by to tell her about her past. She has no one to turn to other than Jake, a man who quickly becomes precious to her, his Aunt Lynda, a lively and warm person, and God. She’s sure God will answer her prayers, guide her. She’s depending on it as her heart is on the line and she doesn’t know if she’s committed to another.

It’s not long before Jake loses his heart to Sunni, but her faith vs. his issues with God, with himself, put up another roadblock. Can he give his heart to her? Will her heart be free to love him? Will she want to love him after recovering her memory?

Sunni, a gentle caring woman, deals well, some may say too well, with her memory loss. Perhaps that’s due to the strength of her faith, though. Jake, rugged and kind, shows the other side of faith, the wavering and questioning side.

Sharon Gillenwater doesn’t shy away from or use a light hand when it comes to faith, prayer or biblical references. She’s gives her characters a very vocal voice in every stage of faith. Most won’t find it overpowering but thought-provoking.

To read Home Sweet Texas is to read a sweet and touching romance with many inspirational nuances.
