Cale Valens is one of the oldest members of the Argeneau clan. He is a vampire who has given up on finding his life mate. A life mate is one whose mind he cannot read or control. It is the perfect match for him in every way and Cale has lived for so long that any hope of finding his match has crumbled. His family and friends however have not given up and think they have found the perfect match for him. The only problem is getting them together.

Alexandra Willan is one of the top chefs in Toronto. She has studied in Europe with some of the finest and has her own restaurant to show for it. Her restaurant is so successful that she has decided to open a second. With preparing to open the second restaurant, the problems are starting to surface. The second restaurant is due to open in a couple weeks and Alex has seen setback after setback and wonders if it will ever be open. She has had to deal with everything from wrong tiles to lime green paint for the walls. To top it all off her chef has just decided to quit and go to the competition.

When her sister calls with a possible replacement, Alex is ecstatic. Things seem to finally be looking up for her when Cale shows up to be the replacement chef. The only trouble is that Cale canít cook. Cale hasnít eaten in centuries, in fact, and must prove to Alex that he can help her. He also finds that he must prove that the attraction they feel for each other is more than just a passing fling; itís one that will last.

The latest addition to the Argeneau series is such a fantastic read. My only problem with the book was that it had to end. Itís a page turner from start to finish and such a wild, heady ride. Cale and Alexís love story will pull at your heart throughout the book. You will feel for Alex and all the setbacks and bad karma that seem to come her way, but with the addition of Cale to her kitchen her world will start to turn around. Cale comes in like a knight in shining armor to save the day and captures her heart. Fans of Ms. Sands Argeneau series will not be disappointed by this addition.
