Dear Readers:

I think you know what this is about without the review, but I know there are many, many readers of romantic suspense, so hereís the plotline:

Kaylie Fletcher has gotten a strange call that her family ahs disappeared and, most likely perished in the Alaskan wilderness. She rushes, against her will, to the land of the midnight sun to face her old demons, and try to find the family who, she feels, has been giving her the cold shoulder all her life. When her plane touches down, she falls right into the arms of Cort McClaine.

Cort is the epitome of hotness. He is a pilot who flies tourists on their excursions into the Alaskan outback and runs rescue missions. Heís rugged, tall, beautiful, and can make a womanís knees shake just by opening his mouth. Heís had a terrible loss in his life and Kaylie, our heroine, doesnít want to become involved with him because heís bad news. Falling for him can make her stay in a world that she hates.

Add in two dead bodies in a cabin and a stalker that is after Kaylie for some reason that no one knows anything about, and you have yourself a mystery.

Thereís action, thereís hot, steamy passion, and, unfortunately, itís formulaic. Weíre not talking a bad story, here, just one that Iíve read a great deal of. Very rarely can these books strike a nerve above the waist. The beauty of Alaska, however, is fantastically written. A cold, harsh world - sometimes beautiful - sometimes frightening - is really the star of this book.

In my opinion, though, if you want a real hero that makes you weak in the knees, turn on 24.

Until Next Time, Amy
