Faith Cooper, a young Puritan woman, is faced with a great dilemma,
after the minister of her church announces that she must marry him. In
desperation, Faith stows away on Captain Geoffrey Hampton's ship, which
is destined for Jamaica where her aunt lives. Faith hopes that her aunt
and uncle will take her into their home. Unfortunately, Faith becomes
very seasick in the hold of the ship and almost dies. Luckily, the
ship's cook finds her and brings her to the second mate's attention.
Geoffrey buys Faith from the rest of his privateer crew, so that they
will leave her alone. Unfortunately, this doesn't discourage all of his
crew and a Spanish ship comes close enough to pillage.
INTO HIS ARMS is an entertaining historical romance with characters, who must come to grips with not only external but internal conflicts. Geoffrey must overcome the scars of his childhood and the Spanish, who seek to hang him as a pirate. Faith must come to grips with her religion and follow her heart. Faith and Geoffrey learn to seek their own truth and believe in their love. All in all, INTO HIS ARMS is an enjoyable historical romance; I recommend it.
