"Rolling Deep" Wilder is a record producer in Los Angeles and the stars he works with make it big with gold and platinum records. Now he would love to step outside of his normal hip hop and rock stars to produce an album for Laurel Raineau, a classical violinist.
Laurel wants nothing to do with "R.D.", especially given his reputation for womanizing and partying. She takes her music seriously and this just doesn’t play with her. R.D., however, is not to be put off. He knows he can make some great music with Laurel if she will just give him a chance.
Laurel takes a holiday to Navarone Riviera Maya. Her first night there, though, she begins to question herself because everywhere she looks, she sees couples. It just serves to make her feel lonely. That is until a handsome man asks to join her table, due to a full restaurant. Zach Allbright is charming and just what she needs.
Is she prepared though to find out just who Zach is?
I love the story Francis Ray has created. How many times have we fallen victim to making judgments and later having to eat our words? Well, that happened to Laurel in a major way. Zach is everything a woman could want. Even though Laurel is ready for something outside of playing her music, she wasn’t prepared to have her heart touched. This is a truly poignant love story full of emotion – laughter, tears, poignant memories as they share of each of their father’s deaths and heart stopping sizzle anytime they touch each other. It Had to Be You is quite well done and I look forward to reading more of this family!
