Julian’s Jungle brings us right back into the world of Ginaris Global, this time Ashley, the former secretary is the lucky main character. After receiving a promotion to PA from secretary, she is given a vacation to Frangipani Island before she can take on her new role. On her vacation she meets Julian, owner and architect of the whole Frangipani resort, and best friend to Jason, boss of Ashley! Julian is beautiful, and immediately charms Ashley with his cultured looks, sexuality, personality, and his love for his dog. Before long, these two are lovers. Exploring and discovering the delights of Frangipani Island and each other's bodies. But like all good things, there time together ends.
As they part from each other, Ashley is completely open about her feelings for Julian; she is in love with him. Julian lets her go back to NY without voicing his feeling, and leaving Ashley to believe that she was nothing more than a fling for Jason. Shortly after her return home, Frangipani Island is devastated by a hurricane and Ashley discovers that she's pregnant. What are two stubborn people to do? Ashley won't settle for anything less than a fairy tale romance, and won't marry just because of the baby, and Julian can't find it in himself to let go of the pain of his past, and trust Ashley with his heart. Julian is left with a simple choice to make, risk it all and have the love of a lifetime or hold onto the secrets and pain of his past and miss out on a lifetime of love and happiness with Ashley.
I did like this book, and enjoyed reading it, but I thought that at times it was too obvious in its direction and a little unbelievable. For instance Ashley goes from being a 20-something virgin to a wanton sexpot over a man's smile! I did like that Jason and Chiara make an appearance in the book, so you can kind of follow their progress. I did like, that the characters emotions were strong and simple, once they decided to go forward than there was no holding back. It was a really relaxing read.
