Monique Vicknair has a special gift. She can see and speak to ghosts. It is a gift that members of the Vicknair family share. It is gift that at times frustrates the hell out Monique. Every time she has a chance at romance she gets a call to help a lost soul. When her grandmother Adeline summons her to the old family plantation house, Monique is not amused. But she knows she has no choice but to answer the call. It is her duty. Her grandmother expects obedience. Her grandmother Adeline is deceased.

Adeline Vicknair works between the worlds of the living and the dead. With the help of the living Vicknair family members she helps souls living in the ‘middle’ cross over.

When Monique reads the letter from her grandmother about her assigned ghost, she is alarmed. She has to teach Ryan Chapelle to learn to love in nine days. What does Monique know about love? She is flat out having sex with all these summons being issued. Is her grandmother trying to ruin her sex life? When a gorgeous ghost appears before her, Monique is stunned. Ryan is everything she wants and everything she cannot have. Despite the sizzling chemistry between them, they are not allowed to physically touch each other.

When I read the back cover of Kiss and Dwell I was very interested to see how the whole human–ghost romance and sex thing was going to work. But it does work. I also liked the fact that although I knew this was a happily ever after book, the turns it took to get to the ending were not obvious.

Monique, to me, is a character that I believe a lot of women will identify with. She wants love and sex but family commitments keep getting in the way. As for Ryan, if you have to have a ghost assigned to you Ryan is the one you would hope you would get.

Monique’s and Ryan’s chemistry is intense and highly sexual which to suits the steamy Louisiana setting of the story. And, I have to say there are some wildly imaginative ways these two characters have sex – however I will not give away the story but it had me wondering. I will say I did laugh a couple of times over it – but that to me is a good thing.

This is true paranormal romance. You need to be able to suspend belief and think "why not?" I am wondering if the other family members are going to have their own stories. I believe Kiss and Dwell is one of those book you have to open your mind and heart. If you believe in the seemingly impossible you will love this story.
