Scarred by a fire almost a year ago, Rebekah Weaver had come to terms with the accident, at least most of the time. Though she didnít understand why God would allow this to happen, Rebekahís faith is strong. But what hurts the most is knowing that no man would look beyond her scarred face to find her loving, compassionate heart.
Emotionally scarred by his father and brotherís murders in the mines of Colorado, deputy Marshall Nate Kirkland was determined to investigate the fires, destruction and turmoil of Silver City. Undercover, Nate found a job at the Weaverís Livery and soon becomes fast friends with the family. Itís too bad that Rebekah has scars; she would make some man a fine wife; not that he was looking. With threatening notes, explosions and fires happening faster than Nate could investigate, it seemed that Rebekah and Nate were continually thrown together to unravel the mystery. It doesnít take long for love to grow. Rebekah understands that Nate wouldnít want her because of her scars and Nate doesnít plan to stay in the area.
Will Rebekah and Nate be able to solve these mysteries before someone really gets hurt? Will Nate realize that he needs Rebekahís help and strong faith to guide him back to God? Can Rebekah lean on Nateís strength and love to convince her that her inner beauty is all that matters: How will God guide two scarred souls to "find love in Silver City"?
Love Finds You in Silver City, ID was a fast enjoyable read. Ms Mowery has a way of creating an action-packed story mixed with mystery, romance, and humor then blending just the right amount of inspiration reminding us why and how God allows bad things to happen to good people. Rebekah and Nate have weaknesses that pull on each otherís strength; as do other characters in the story and some may not be who they seem.
Janelle Mowery is fast becoming one of my favorite inspirational historical authors. Her research to depict as much authenticity as possible while giving her readers all the great qualities in an inspirational romance has caused me to leave space on my bookshelves for, hopefully, many more great historical novels.
