Running from an outlaw, Angel Ramirez has been living a lie of deception passing herself off as a man. Angel has built a reputation as one of the best varmint trackers in the west. But living on the run from Texas to Wyoming was wearing on her; she wanted to find a place to call home.
Sundance Ranch had a varmint problem. They were killing off Travis Morgan’s cattle and he needed to do something about it soon. He’d heard that Angelo was the best so he sent a wire in desperation.
Angel had decided to take the job but she was tired of living the lie; she was going to be herself. Travis was ecstatic when Angelo arrived, until he found out that Angelo was Angel. A woman working on the range was trouble and what he didn’t need was more trouble. What could he do? He had to track down the critters killing his stock or he wouldn’t have a ranch left.
Travis was amazed at Angel’s skill and he was becoming mesmerized with her as a woman. Angel had no romantic experience with men but she felt a pull toward Travis that she had never felt before. Whatever it was, Angel couldn’t allow anything to grow between them because she’d have to tell Travis about her past. She was sure that after 3 years the outlaw had moved on to something else, but she couldn’t handle the disappointment and heartache that would come if Travis knew.
Travis seeks God’s direction and Angel isn’t sure where God is; but it wasn’t long before Angel was beginning to see that God was in the big things and the small. Angel could see it in the lives of Travis and his cowboys. Maybe God could come to care for her too.
Just as Angel and Travis were about to move beyond the friendship they’d built, Angel discovers a two-legged varmint on the range and unfortunately this outlaw is from her past. Those she loves may be in danger so Angel decides to take care of this varmint on her own. As usual, the situation gets out of hand. If God cared to help her, now would be a good time!
Love Finds You in Sundance, WY was an enjoyable fast read. The story was different than the typical western which kept me turning the pages to discover what would happen next. The characters are written with human-like qualities and the emotions are high as tears came to my eyes during Angel’s struggles with herself and her circumstances. The pictures are painted with just the right detail for you to feel like you’re standing next to Angel and Travis.
When you visit Sundance you’ll find a unique story with subtle inspiration that will give you hours of enjoyable entertainment.
