Rain Tairen Soul, king of the Fey and a powerful Tairen shapeshifter, has, finally, found his truemate, Ellysetta "Ellie" Baristani, in a most unlikely place. Ellie is the daughter of a human woodcarver, but all is not what it appears, because Ellie has hidden magic and she is adopted. Unfortunately, the evil High Mage Vadim Maur has been hunting for Ellie since she was small, and he is getting closer to finding her. Meanwhile, the Eld are gaining political power in Celiera and are preparing to invade.

Lady of Light and Shadows continues the epic fantasy romance, which began with Lord of the Fading Lands. Ms. Wilson weaves a complex tale, which gives equal billing to the fantasy and romance elements of her story. Her world is intricate and her characters are intriguing. The evil mages sent a chill down my spine and I was holding my breath throughout much of the book. I'm enthralled by Ms. Wilson's series and can't wait for the next book! This series is a must read for fantasy lovers.
