Alexia Travers just can’t believe that her father, Ben, would leave her with a mountain of debt and not tell her. She can’t believe that he would buy more horses and discover gold, all without telling her. But Alex’s father didn’t expect to die on his way to town either. Being the proud independent woman Alex was raised to be, she is determined to follow in her father’s footsteps and keep the horse ranch successful.
And another thing Alex didn’t know was that her father thought the ranch and perhaps his life was in danger and had asked a friend, Justin Phillips, to help. Ben had helped Justin’s family and Justin felt indebted. He would help Ben and then move on with his son and find a place they could call home. What Justin doesn’t count on is Ben’s death and he having a very attractive daughter. But Justin is not interested in a relationship since the one he had with his deceased wife left him sour on love.
It doesn’t take long for Justin to see that there is something going on at the ranch that doesn’t add up. To make it worse Justin can’t believe that he’s falling for Alex. He swore he didn’t want a relationship. Alex is also drawn to Justin but she’s always been the independent type, working hard with her father to build the ranch into what it’s become. She’s never been drawn to the traditional women’s interests.
Alex and Justin together, start to unravel the mystery behind her father’s recent dealings. Together they are discovering that if they rely on God, no matter the circumstances, their lives will be richer. But can they put their full trust in God without trying to take the reins? Will both Alex and Justin be able to let go of their past and let God lead their future?
Love Finds You in Last Chance, California is an entertaining story you won’t want to put down. It has all the elements that I appreciate in a good inspirational romance, with strong yet tender characters that make you wish you were visiting Last Chance yourself. Ms Ferrell has a way of depicting the characters’ emotions that will make you feel them too.
I recommend taking a "visit" to Last Chance, California. I’m guessing you’ll be glad you did!
