Tehya Talamosi was the daughter of one of the biggest crime lords the world has ever known. Not wanting to follow in her fatherís bloody footsteps, Tehya enlisted the help of Captain Jordan Malone and his Elite Ops. With their help, Tehya was able to take her father and brother down and end their reign of terror on innocent people. She even has gone further and joined the Elite Ops herself, where her skills with technology has been honed down to a science.

Now several years later, Tehya has established a life outside of the Elite Ops and is content to finally put down roots and relish in being able to breathe without the worry of being hunted by her father. The only part of her past that haunts her is the attraction she felt for a certain captainÖ..Captain Jordan Malone. One night with Jordan and a seemingly schoolgirl crush turned into a full blown heartache when she decided to leave the team. Yet when her past starts sneaking back into her life, Tehya must call on Jordan and the Elite Ops to come to her rescue before itís too late.

Captain Jordan Malone has been leading his team of Elite Ops to bring down the most notorious and ruthless criminals in the world. They are given carte blanche on how they get rid of these criminals without having to answer to government protocol. What makes Jordanís job extremely difficult is Tehya. Tehya was the daughter of one of biggest criminals the Elite Ops went after and only with her help were they able to take him down. It was natural, with Tehyaís intelligence, to bring her into the fold at Elite Ops. Jordan couldnít have seen what bringing her in could do to him. The attraction, and his denial of how he felt, would be the hardest thing he would have to face. Now Tehya is in danger from the people she helped take down and Jordan must eliminate the danger before he loses her forever.

I love reading Lora Leighís books. I am entranced by her breed series and thought I would give one of her other series a try. I will have to be frank and say while it isnít one of my favorites, it is still a really great book. Iím not one to be hooked into military driven stories, but once I got into the bulk of the story I started to get into it a bit more. I think Ms. Leigh is smoothly adept at weaving a story and peeling back the layers of her characters a piece at a time until theyíre fully exposed. She has such strong characters whose pasts donít hinder them but make them stronger and more complex and leave us at the end knowing exactly what makes them tick. Ms. Leigh shows readers the face of the military that we donít necessarily get to see. We donít see just how much work and sacrifice it takes to bring down the worldís villains and keep the rest of us safe at night. I think anyone who loves military driven stories and overall a good love story will fall in love with Lora Leighís addition to her Elite Ops series.
