From the jacket, "He haunted her dreams.† She haunted his nightmares. She betrayed him at the altar and her father sold him into slavery. Kidnapping her was only the beginning of his revenge."
Loved it, loved it, loved it!! Make room on your bookshelves because this one is a keeper. I love medieval romances because of the knights, keeps, putting herbs in the rushes. (If youíve never read a medieval, you have no idea what Iím talking about.) In a medieval book, you have great clothes, royalty and castles. If they only had indoor plumbing, Iíd choose to live back then.
Set in England in the 1470ís, Master of Pleasure is a wonderful story of betrayal, revenge and ultimately, one of redemption. Feisty, redheaded Meiriona was betrothed to Godric of Montgomery. One would not think this to be a problem. However, Godric is an ardent Yorkist supporting King Edward who has recently been replaced by King Henry. Lady Meirionaís father will not allow her to marry a Yorkist. So, she jilts him at the altar and is led to believe he was sent to a French court as a Lord. In reality, her father sells Godric into slavery. When he returns to England, he has only one thing on his mind----revenge.
I canít say enough wonderful things about this book. Master of Pleasure was so enthralling I couldnít put it down. Ms. Trapp writes the most sensual love scenes, even when they only kiss. The characters were so real that I was sad when the book ended. I felt as if my best friend had moved away. Trust me when I tell you this is one book youíll want to read. Just make sure you set aside some time, as it wonít be put down until you finish the whole thing.
