For those of you who are reading this Montana Mavericks Series, I think you will love the latest edition. If you are like me and just picked up a book to read, you are in for a real treat. Ms. St.John does a fantastic job of bringing the new reader up to date in the series without rehashing too much information for the series reader. For the series readers, this is the final book in the Montana Mavericks: Gold Rush Grooms series.

Welcome to Thunder Canyon where the search has been ongoing for the owner of the Queen of Hearts Gold Mine. Can anybody believe the owner is Lisa Martin---local dog-walker? Lisa is the girl who has spent her whole life trying to fade into the scenery. She’s a total plain-Jane suddenly thrust into the spotlight of fame and fortune. Since the mine doesn’t belong to the Douglas family after all, Riley Douglas is trying his hardest to become the financial advisor to the new heiress. He’s spending a lot of time on (and off) the clock with Lisa. Is he for real—or really just after her money?

Ms. St.John has woven a lot of humor into this book. Lisa is the last person on earth that you would think of as an heiress. From her frumpy clothes to her awful haircut, she screams poor, just scraping by girl. She’s also the person most likely to become the poster child for Murphy’s Law. If something can go wrong, don’t worry---it will. Yet, she shows her true colors throughout the book and learns to draw from the well of strength within herself. In a way, it’s her coming of age story, just magnified and sped up due to the instant millionaire status.

Ms. St.John is one of my favorite authors and she does not disappoint in Million-Dollar Makeover. The story is so entrancing that you’ll forget all about the time as you read and it’s a book you can totally lose yourself into. It is what I would call a genuine page-turner since each page would have me saying, "I’ll read one more page, then I’ll put it down and go to bed". The joke was on me as I never could put it down. I think you’ll laugh and cry with Lisa as she tries to pull fast ones over on Riley. Tension builds from the first page up until the end of the story. I couldn’t put it down and stayed up entirely too late in order to finish up Riley & Lisa’s story. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
