Talin McKade seeks help from leopard changeling, Clay, in finding one of the children that she aided as a social worker. At risk children are being abducted and, later, their bodies are found mutilated. Two of Talin's "children" have already suffered this brutal fate, and she must save the latest victim. Talin and Clay have a history-- at one time they were very close, but that changed after Clay was arrested for the murder of Talin's abusive foster father. Talin led Clay to believe that she had died in a car accident while he was in juvenile detention. Now, Talin fears Clay's reaction but needs his help.
Mine to Possess is an outstanding paranormal romance about two tortured characters, who must overcome internal and external conflicts to achieve their happy ending. Clay, who was Talin's best friend and protector, feels guilt because he was unable to stop Talin's foster father from abusing her for years. Even though Clay has found a family and some peace in the DarkRiver pack, he has built up emotional walls to protect himself from pain. Talin loves Clay but fears him at the same time. Talin must overcome her fears and come to grips with the abused child still inside her.
Mine to Possess grabbed me from the first, and I couldn't put it down until the very end. Ms. Singh has created a very addictive series, and I can't wait for the next book.
