Skye Brown keeps having the most realistic repeating nightmare where she is no longer Skye Brown, game designer from NYC. In the dream world, she’s called Mariah Quinn, rebel leader in a post-apocalyptic world. In her dreams, everyone keeps telling her that New York is not her real home. Everyone tells her she really belongs on Terra, helping the dark-siders in their fight against the upper class who would continue to treat them as disposable slave labor.
When she’s in New York, she has a great job, a hot boyfriend and fun friends. When on Terra, there’s Dawn, a handsome soldier who has been deeply betrayed by Mariah/Skye. What do you do when your world is tipped on it’s axis and your dream life starts seeming more real than reality?!? And is Moongazing the best way to move people from Terra to Earth to help with the over-population problem? Or is it an elaborate hoax to drug the people of Terra into submission?
This is a fast paced, edgy romance. While I am not familiar with anime, I found this to be a wonderful introduction. I love the suspense that is woven into the fabric of the story. There’s some sci-fi mixed in as well and a whole lot of romance. The second half of the book is so fast paced and compelling—I found myself waking up in the night needing to read more chapters. I couldn’t get enough.
Ms. Mancusi has another spectacular book here. If you like action, sci-fi, fantasy, suspense and romance, you’ll find it all in Moongazer.
